Louisa deputy struck while checking on disabled car

LOUISA, VA (WWBT) - A Louisa deputy was hit and severely injured by a car on Route 15 just after 6 p.m. Friday.
Officials say Deputy D.J. Hart was checking on a disabled car when he was struck, but they were not able to say whether the driver who hit the deputy stopped or kept going.
Trooper Hart was med-flighted to UVA Hospital with injuries that are considered serious, but not critical.
Virginia State Police is investigating.
