HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - A Richmond man accused of pimping out a teenage girl in Henrico's West End was sentenced to 15 years in prison this week.

According to court records, Sharim Martel Singletary was sentenced in a Henrico courtroom Wednesday after pleading guilty to several charges, including conspiracy to use a minor for prostitution, taking a minor for prostitution, and use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.

Other charges, including possession of child pornography, kidnapping for forced labor or service, and abduction of a person under the age of 16-years-old for immoral purposes, were not prosecuted as part of the guilty plea.

In 2015, a prostitution bust led officers to a Henrico apartment complex where the 15-year-old girl from New York was found.

Court documents revealed that the girl was being pimped out for money from an apartment, and was advertised on backpage.com. An undercover agent came into contact with the girl during a sting operation.
