RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A new site for the Richmond police memorial has been announced.
The bronze statue currently stands across from the Richmond Coliseum near 7th Street. Supporters recently restored it and wanted it relocated near the Carillon at Byrd Park, but park neighbors argued the police statue would obstruct views of the Carillon - a World War I memorial.
The new site of the memorial will be near Trafford and Blanton.
