HANOVER, Va. (WWBT) - A naval officer convicted of killing his pregnant girlfriend was sentenced in court on Friday.

The Hanover County Clerk confirms that Emmanuel Coble was sentenced to 2 life sentences plus 8 years on charges of first-degree murder, death of a fetus, transporting a dead body and gun charges.

In April, a Hanover jury convicted Coble of first-degree murder in the death of 20-year-old Raquiah King after she refused to get an abortion, according to an affidavit.

In July 2022, a passerby discovered King’s body in a ditch near Greenwood and Winns Church Road. King was naked, with a bullet wound, but no bullet casing was found.

King was 12 weeks pregnant and Coble was the father, according to her mother.
