PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) - Police say four brothers were in a car that crashed off an overpass in Philadelphia on Friday.

Two of them are now dead and their community is in mourning.

“I’m their pastor and like an uncle, but as a parent myself, it’s unimaginable,” Cathedral International Church senior pastor Donald Hilliard described.

Hilliard is speaking of the loss suffered by a family in his congregation.

Twenty-two-year-old Joshua Davis, of Cranbury, New Jersey, and his brother, 23-year-old Aaron Davis, of East Windsor, New Jersey, were killed Friday night.

The brothers who were killed after their car crashed off Interstate 95 have been identified.

Their car crashed on Interstate 95 and went off the roadway, landing about 30 feet below onto Castor Avenue.

Their twin 18-year-old brothers were also in the car at the time and suffered serious injuries.

“I talked about it on the night it happened and I had to stop talking. I guess the tears just started flowing,” Hilliard said. “I just can’t remember a time I didn’t know them.”

It was a somber scene on Sunday as Hilliard shared the news before the church.

“These are our church babies. They were born into this church. I christened all five of those boys. I baptized them,” Hilliard added.

Witnesses told police the Mazda the brothers were riding in was racing a Dodge Challenger on the highway before they lost control.

“This is absolutely the most devastating death,” Hilliard said.

Moving forward is something Hilliard says won’t be easy, but the family is receiving an outpouring of support as they all prepare for a double funeral.

“We will miss them for the rest of our lives,” Hilliard said. “By the grace of God, their parents, at some point, the sun will shine again for them.”
