First Alert Weather Day Tuesday: Icy spots possible
Dry but still icy and very cold tonight and tomorrow morning
RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Most roads are just wet, but elevated surfaces and some secondary roads are still a bit slushy and black ice could form.
Some evaporation will take place this afternoon but any moisture left over should refreeze overnight, be cautious of icy conditions again Wednesday morning.
Here is just a sample of some of the reports we have received around the area. Note that just north and west of downtown Richmond, there was quite a bit more of the snow and sleet. Richmond International Airport recorded 0.50″ of snow. The last time we’ve had a full 1″ of snow at our official Richmond reporting station, Richmond International Airport, was January 16, 2022.
One final reminder, be aware that slick spots will be likely across a large part of the area today and again Wednesday morning.
