CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - Many schools in central Virginia are providing free meals for their students during the summer months.

Chesterfield County Public Schools

Free breakfasts and lunches will be available to students from Monday through Thursday from June 27 to July 21 at several Chesterfield County Public Schools.

With the passage of the federal Keep Kids Fed Act, children do not have to be present to receive the meals, and meals do not have to be eaten on site. Parents and guardians can also pick up meals on behalf of their children.

There will now be curbside pickup sites this summer, CCPS said. Meals will be available for pickup 3:30-4:30 p.m. on July 19 (five days of meals), July 26 (10 days of meals) and Aug. 9 (nine days of meals) at Ettrick Elementary, Hopkins Elementary, Salem Church Elementary, Tomahawk Creek Middle, Thomas Dale High, Manchester High and Monacan High.
