Two $50,000 Powerball winners in Central Virginia
(WWBT) - Nearly 500,000 winning Powerball tickets in Virginia, but no jackpot winner! Lottery officials say one ticket sold at Convenience on the Go, 1441 Holland Road, Suffolk, won $1 million in Saturday night's drawing. That person's ticket matched five numbers.
They also say, two people in Central Virginia won $50,000 after matching four numbers and the Powerball number.
Those 15 tickets sold in Virginia that each won $50,000 in Saturday's Powerball drawing were bought at the following locations:
- Kroger, 11400 Huguenot Road, Midlothian
- Fas Mart, 16575 Mountain Road, Montpelier
- B.O.B., 12201 Sunrise Valley Dive, Reston
- 7-Eleven, 1620 Hardy Cash Drive, Hampton
- 7-Eleven, 2001 Rosser Avenue, Waynesboro
- 7-Eleven, 16170 Country Club Drive, Dumfries
- Macs Circle K, 43740 Parkhurst Plaza, Ashburn
- Bridge End Center, 11161 Berlin Turnpike, Lovettsville
- Exxon Express, 2390 Roanoke Street, Christiansburg
- 7-Eleven, 1928 Holland Road, Suffolk
- Rangeley 102 Mini Market & Deli, 1715 Dillons Fork Road, Fieldale
- 7-Eleven, 6146 Rose Hill Drive, Alexandria
- 7-Eleven, 7500 Cushing Road, Manassas
- 7-Eleven, 8324 W. Main Street, Marshall
- Macs Circle K, 22405 Flagstaff Plaza, Ashburn
The excitement generated by that $1.3 billion estimated jackpot for Wednesday's drawing is expected to lead to record sales in Virginia. The profit from every Powerball ticket bought in Virginia, like tickets from all other Virginia Lottery games, benefits K-12 public education in the Commonwealth.
If one ticket matches all six numbers in Wednesday's drawing, the winner will have a choice: either take the full $1.3 billion jackpot in 30 annual payments, or choose a one-time cash option of approximately $806 million before taxes. If multiple tickets match all six numbers, the jackpot will be divided among them equally.
