RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The Valentine says January “will be a quieter month” at the museum after the death of its Director Bill Martin.

The museum says it will reschedule several events, with the exception of its ”Life, Liberty & Happiness" lecture, which will take place as planned on Jan. 16 at the Library of Virginia.

“This lecture series was a particular favorite of Bill’s and we hope you will join us,” the Valentine said in a statement on Monday.

The museum says open house is being planned for Saturday, Feb. 7 to honor and remember Martin.

“More details will be shared soon, but this gathering will offer an opportunity to come together, share memories and reflect on Bill’s life and work,” the Valentine said.
