Man killed by 'random gunfire' in Richmond identified

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Richmond Police Department found a man dead in the Fulton neighborhood late Wednesday after receiving a call for "random gunfire."

Officers were called to the 5300 block of Blue Ridge Avenue just after 11 p.m. and found Marc E. Johnson on a sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound. Johnson, 48, of Richmond, was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are investigating the shooting as a homicide and have not named any suspects.
