RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting last summer.

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested 21-year-old Keton L. Smith at his home on Friday.

Police say he killed 34-year-old Matthias J. Washington, who was shot multiple times while driving his car in the 2800 block of Dunn Ave. on Aug. 18. Police say his car collided with several parked cars. Officers who responded to the scene found him dead inside his car.

"Now that Smith has been arrested, we're hoping others will come forward to tell us what they know about this murder," Major Crimes Sergeant Richard G. Edwards said. "We have built a good case, but we'd like more information from people who may have been reluctant to speak until now."

Smith has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Anyone with any information on the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
