Pilot identified in Essex County plane crash

ESSEX, VA (WWBT) - State police are investigating a plane crash in Essex County.
Around 8:00 p.m. Saturday, police say the pilot experienced engine trouble and crashed into several trees off Rollins Lane near Route Three.
The pilot was identified as 54-year-old Paul Boulden of Mechanicsville. He parachuted out of the plane just before it crashed. Boulden and the three other men on board were not injured.
The plane was heading from Salisbury, MD to Hanover County Municipal Airport.
The FAA and the NTSB are investigating this crash.
