RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The Richmond Police Department says they have arrested the many they say are responsible for a deadly outside City Hall on March 8.

The shooting happened shortly before 8 a.m. at a bus stop on East Broad Street between 8th and 9th streets.

When officers arrived, they found 33-year-old Vincent Robinson Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. He was taken to VCU Medical Center, where he later died.

Police released photos and a description of the suspect after the shooting.

“He is described as a black male possibly with a short beard under a face covering, a distinctive black and white hooded jacket, distinctive Fila sneakers, sunglasses, and blue jeans,” the Richmond Police Department said in a news release.

They also released new details about his actions that morning.

“Detectives have determined the suspect walked to the bus stop and, after the shooting, walked westbound on East Broad Street and then turned south. He was last seen in the area of 4th and East Cary streets,” the Richmond Police Department said.

On Wednesday, March 20, Richmond police arrested Johnathan Jackson, 29, of Richmond and charged him with murder and using a gun to commit a felony.
