RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) -A 24-year-old man has been charged in a shooting that left a Richmond man dead last December.

Matthew Hellams, of Richmond, has been charged with murder and using a firearm to commit a felony for shooting in a duplex on Floyd Avenue.

Around 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, officers were called to the 2300 block of Floyd Avenue for unknown trouble.

Officers arrived and found Michael Jones, 48, of Richmond, unresponsive.

Police discovered he had been shot. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
